Supporting our local small businesses

Welsh Labour’s Economy Minister Edwina Hart is encouraging people throughout Wales to back the nationwide campaign to support local independent traders on Saturday December 7 – designated the UK’s first Small Business Saturday.

The Welsh Government is actively promoting Small Business Saturday through a Social Media campaign, to highlight the importance of shopping locally to support start-up and small businesses, and to raise awareness of support available for small businesses via the Business Wales service.

The campaign also includes Twitter and Facebook promotion surrounding a series of  ‘Marketplace Wales’ events. These events provide small businesses across Wales who have received support through Business Wales, an opportunity to showcase their products to local consumers.
