Recycling programme gets £11.5m investment

Welsh Labour’s Minister for Natural Resources, Alun Davies, has announced extra investment and an extension to a programme that supports Welsh councils to increase recycling rates.

The Collaborative Change Programme will run at least until the end of the 2015/16 financial year. This year, the Welsh Government is providing £3.5m in funding for local authorities, increasing to £4m each year from 2014/15. Among the local authorities to benefit, Swansea Council is set to receive £152,978 in this financial year.

The Programme is open to all Welsh local authorities and provides specialist advice to help them to achieve recycling targets with efficient services, within their financial means.
