Mike Hedges welcomes news that Government Statistics prove that there is NOT a funding gap for Education in Wales Compared with England.
‘I welcome this information that confirms Education spending in Wales was 8% higher in Wales than in England; this information from the UK Government Statistics Dept. disproves claims that Wales has less money spent on Education than England. The reverse is the case.
I am particularly pleased that this extra spending in Wales has provided extra Pupil Deprivation Grant money for local schools and money for the rebuilding of Morriston Comprehensive, Cefn Hengoed Comprehensive, Burlais Primary and Lon Las Welsh Medium School.
According to the Treasury’s own recently published PESA figures, spending per head on education in Wales in 2013-14 was 8% higher than it was in England
