Mike Hedges MS welcomes news that National Lottery has overseen the distribution of nearly £2 million in Swansea East since 2017.
Speaking from his Morriston Office, Mike Hedges said.. ‘The National Lottery is a marvellous body which makes a big contribution to life in our communities. I regularly visit community groups and am amazed at the variety of projects that have received funding from the Lottery; it is fair to say that some of these projects would not be able to continue without the contributions from the lottery.
I would urge all Community Groups and organisations to check their eligibility for lottery funding and apply – if people need help, please contact my office on 01792 790621 or email me on [email protected] and my staff will be pleased to advise.
Over the past five years, Swansea East constituency has benefited from £1,957,339 of awards to support 107 projects, ranging from as much as £394,643 awarded to Street Football Wales (SFW), to as little as £400 to The Mission Church.
As the largest funder of community activity in the UK, The National Lottery Community Fund is responsible for distributing money raised by National Lottery players to support community-led grassroots projects and strategic projects making a positive different for the lives of people in Wales.
