MIKE HEDGES CALLS FOR COMMANWEALTH GAMES TO BE HELD IN SWANSEA.

Mike Hedges AM spoke at the National Assembly and called for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Swansea.

Mike said.. ‘Swansea is used to hosting large events with The Swans in the premiership, the Para Olympics in 2013 and events at the National Pool. The Commonwealth Games are awarded to Cities, not Countries, and Swansea can evidence its experience of hosting big events. If the event comes to Wales, it should not automatically be assumed that such events will be held in Cardiff.

Other areas of Wales should have the opportunities to host these prestigious games.
