MIKE HEDGES AM SUPPORTS WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and Swansea East AM Mike Hedges has pledged to support Samaritans Cymru in their work to reduce the number of people who take their own life.
Mike Hedges AM said…. ‘I have met families of people who have taken their own life and I know how difficult it can be for family members when loved ones end their life. It is such a sad thing that so many young people feel that this is the only option they have – IT ISNT! The Samaritans have years of experience of working with people in difficult situations to support them away from crisis points.
I have met Samaritans volunteers from Swansea East who give up huge amounts of time to help others – our heartfelt thanks should go to these volunteers.
If you are in a crisis or you know someone who is – please get in touch with the Samaritans and see what support can be provided. This new toolkit from The Samaritans launched today can help spot signs of someone in early distress and point people to where support can be accessed.’
