Supplementary Question to the Minister for Health & Social Services

On a more positive note, I thank the Minister for the substantial investment that has already taken place at Morriston Hospital. Would she outline what further developments are due to take place there?
Lesley Griffiths AM:
Thank you for that question. The key role of Morriston in ABMU’s overall service strategy is set out in its five-year plan. The investment in the scheme to which you referred—redevelopment phase 1B—has included £63 million, and we have invested heavily in that. It will redevelop the main entrance, improve clinical accommodation for out-patient renal dialysis, endoscopy and maxillofacial services, and it will also provide a new education centre. The full business case for the capital investment was submitted on 1 June and is going through the normal approval process for further improvement.
