MIKE HEDGES ASKS WELSH OFFICE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION FOR A STATEMENT ON WHAT IS BEING DONE TO EDUCATE CHILDREN ON THE DANGERS OF LEGAL HIGHS
Mike Hedges AM said….. ‘Many people living in Swansea East are aware of the problems within local communities relating to so called ‘Legal Highs’; following on from the recent prosecution of a retailer selling these substances, we must ensure that children in local schools are educated to the highest standards on the dangers of these substances. I have asked Huw Lewis, Minister for Education, to provide a statement on what is being done to do with schools in Wales to ensure that children have the best information available.’
Question to Minister 8 December 2015
I would also like to request a statement from the Minister of Education on what is being done to educate children of the dangers of so called legal highs.
Whilst I welcome the new law being brought in at Westminster, I also know that making them illegal will not stop their use although it will stop them being sold on the high street. It is important that children are educated on the dangers of these substances.
