Labour’s local Swansea AMs Mike Hedges and Julie James have today paid tribute to the work done by Royal Mail postmen and women in the run-up to their busiest time of year – Christmas.
Last week, the two Swansea representatives visited the Royal Mail’s Llansamlet sorting office to pass on their thanks and Christmas wishes to postal workers doing their bit to sort out and deliver the area’s share of the Wales postbag, estimated to be around 200 million items.
Speaking from the Llansamlet sorting office, Swansea East AM Mike Hedges and Swansea West AM Julie James said:
“It was great to meet the hard-working and dedicated Royal Mail postal staff at the Swansea sorting office and to see first-hand just how much effort they put into delivering the Christmas.
“Posties do a fantastic job at this time of year to ensure that friends and families stay in touch over the busy festive period, and we both would like to thank them for their efforts and wish them all the best over Christmas and the New Year.”
